A website is often the first impression a customer gets of your business. It does not need to be big, but it does need to be clear, fast and easy to contact you from. Use this checklist before you build a new site or redesign an old one.
1. Clear message in five seconds
A visitor should know what you do, where you do it and how to contact you without scrolling. Put a one-line description, your main service or product and a call or WhatsApp button at the top.
2. Mobile-first, responsive design
Most visitors in India arrive on a phone. A responsive website rearranges itself for phones, tablets and desktops. Check that text is readable without zooming, buttons are large enough to tap and nothing scrolls sideways.
3. Fast loading
Slow sites lose visitors and rank lower on Google. Keep pages light:
- Use modern image formats such as WebP and size them correctly.
- Avoid heavy sliders and unnecessary plugins.
- Choose reliable web hosting close to your audience.
4. Easy ways to enquire
Give people several ways to reach you and make each one work in one tap:
- A short enquiry form that goes straight to your inbox
- Click-to-call phone numbers
- A WhatsApp chat button
- An embedded Google Map with directions
5. Search-friendly structure (SEO basics)
- One clear page per service or product, each with its own title and description.
- Headings that use the words customers actually search for, including local terms such as your city.
- Descriptive image alt text.
- A sitemap and a Google Business Profile linked to your website.
6. Trust signals
Show client logos, project photos, testimonials, years in business, certifications and your full address. Real proof turns visitors into enquiries.
7. Domain, SSL and business email
Use your own domain name, an SSL certificate (the padlock in the browser) and a business email such as you@yourcompany.com instead of a free email address. We can set up all three through thebrainhub.in.
8. Easy to update
Plan who will update prices, photos or news, and how. A site that has not changed in years tells customers the business may have stopped too.
9. Legal pages
Add a privacy policy, terms of use and, if you use tracking, a cookie notice. They build trust and are required if you collect personal data.
10. Measure and improve
Check which pages bring enquiries and which do not, and improve them a little every few months.
